First national information technology training network specifically for the visually impaired
In August 2005, the Vodafone Portugal Foundation helped the Portuguese Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted (ACAPO) to create the first national information technology training network specifically for the visually impaired. With the help of a donation of 61,000 euros, eight of ACAPO’s fifteen branches now boast technical trainers, as well as computers, software, screen readers and amplifier programs adapted to users’ needs .
