Telecel Celebrates 1 Million Customers with a Whitney Houston Concert
On 04 July 1998, when Whitney Houston starts singing in Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon, Telecel will have close to 1 million Customers. This means that at least one out of ten Portuguese people is a Telecel Customer.
This number, that few people would have forecasted some years ago, indicates very well the magnitude and speed of the growth of mobile communications in Portugal, and in particular, of Telecel’s service. Telecel passed the 100,000 Customers barrier just three years ago, in April 1995, which at that time represented an outstanding number of Customers, both nationally and internationally.
To celebrate one million Customers, Telecel brings to Portugal the greatest soul singer of today. This is the first time that Whitney Houston will sing in Portugal.
