Telecel launches its fixed service

Telecel has today announced details of “toq”, its fixed indirect access service which will, with effect from 1st January 2000, make it possible to use Telecel’s network to make fixed national and international calls. With this new service, Telecel has taken a further step in establishing itself as a global telecommunications operator. The offer of an integrated solution of mobile and fixed communications and Internet services has obvious synergies that allow existing Customers of Telecel or “netc” to benefit from the special conditions offered, namely lower tariffs, an integrated invoice service and the collection of Clube Viva points.

The calls made using “toq” will have lower tariffs than those usually charged by the incumbent operator of the fixed network, with no monthly fees or any call activation tariff.

The launch of “toq” represents a further enhancement of Telecel’s ability to satisfy its Customer’s global communication needs, in an accessible, efficient and extremely easy way. In order to access “toq”, Telecel’s fixed network service, Customers just have to dial 1091 and then the number they want to reach. The call will be conducted by Telecel and the Customer will be able to take advantage of this new fixed network service for national (distance above 50 kilometres) or international calls.

The indirect fixed access will also be available for the corporate Customers under the brand name NEXIFIX built-in the NEXIS offer. In this case, for more convenience of the users of this service, the prefix 1091 can be pre-programmed in the Customers’ PABX.

It is very simple to use this service. Customers can subscribe using the Telecel Telemarketing service or any of Telecel’s shops or agents.
