Lisbon, 02 June 1999 – Lisbon Oceanarium, the biggest in Europe (second biggest in the World) and Telecel, will enter the new millennium together because of the sponsorship agreement signed today by President of Board of Directors from Lisbon Oceanarium, S.A., Dr. António Mega Ferreira and Vice-Presidents from Telecel Comunicações Pessoais, S.A, Eng. António Vaz Branco and Eng. António Coimbra.

The agreement, valid for three years 1999 – 2002, associates Telecel with the most visited place in Parque das Nações, aiming at an effort combination and a gathering of interests.

In the next 3 year, co-operation will include, among others, initiatives such as the installation of a Telecel desk in Loja do Mar, participation of otters from the Pacific Ocean habitat in actions of communication from Telecel and the support of the company in the purchase of rare species aiming to enhance fauna and flora in the Oceanarium.

It should also be mentioned that by now, and after the opening of Parque das Nações, Oceanarium has already received around 700 thousand visitors. This is a success, since forecasts pointed to 900 thousand visitors for the first year, and surely this figure will be much bigger.
