The “netc” portal initiative “A Click for Mozambique” (a charity donation of 1 PTE for each hit on the home page of “netc” portal), raised 1,731,735 PTE following the number of hits by “netc” Customers. Mr. António Carrapatoso, chairman and CEO of Telecel delivered the amount in 30 of June to Ms. Maria Barroso, Chairman of Portuguese Red Cross.

In the occasion, Mr. Carrapatoso said that the result of this initiative “represents almost two million solidarity acts, in a way that only Internet can do. Telecel recognises and value the social responsibility of companies that also can be materialised in support initiatives to institutions whose performance in the help of the most needed should be remembered, as Portuguese Red Cross.

Congratulating Telecel for its action in favour of the most needed, the Portuguese Red Cross Chairman emphasised the “importance of the new technologies as powerful means of a solidarity culture and involvement of the civilian society on humanitarian causes”
