Lisbon, 18 June 2003 – Following discussion with Anacom and in line with its policy of providing ever more competitive services, Vodafone Telecel has decided to reduce its termination charge for connections between the fixed telephone network and Vodafone Telecel’s mobile network by 7% with effect from 1 July.

This reduction in interconnection charges will allow reductions in consumer prices for calls between the fixed telephone network and the Vodafone Telecel network if, as is expected, fixed network operators pass on this saving to customers.

It is Vodafone Telecel’s intention to make further reductions of the same order of magnitude in the termination charge in each of the next three quarters, depending on assessments at the time of market and regulatory conditions.
