First Vodafone-branded 3G phone

Lisbon, 6 November 2006 – Vodafone has started to market the first mobile phone under its own brand in Portugal. This is the Vodafone 710, a 3G phone whose characteristics, design and functions have been specified by Vodafone to facilitate the use of its mobile services by its customers.

The phone provides easy access to Vodafone’s main services including Vodafone Radio DJ, Mobile TV, music downloads and videocalls, among other services available on the Vodafone live! 3G portal. It also incorporates an MP3 reader, a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth. These characteristics and features are complemented by an elegant clamshell design and an attractive price – 119.90 euros including trade-in of the customer’s old phone.

In addition, customers who purchase the new Vodafone 710 by 24 November will benefit from free use of the Mobile TV, Videocall, Radio DJ and Football Videos services for 30 days.

The Vodafone 710 is the first mobile phone manufactured for the Vodafone Group by the Chinese company Huawei Technologies as the result of the strategic alliance between them was signed in February 2006. Apart from Portugal, the phone will be launched in Germany, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom.
