Lisbon, 22 February 2006 – Vodafone is today launching, exclusively in Portugal, iZi TraN – a rapid, secure and efficient Fleet Management solution, developed in partnership with Tecmic.

The iZi TraN solution enables companies of any size to manage, easily and in real time, all the activity of their fleet of vehicles and machines and the create periodic reports containing the most important information to optimise and guarantee the fleet security. Without investment in equipment and for a flat monthly charge, firms can equip their fleets with a complete solution based on GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite localisation and access it at any time from any location via an ordinary Internet connection.

The solution is sold as a “turnkey” solution, meaning that it includes the entire range of equipment and services required: equipment (including GPS), installation, maintenance during the contract term, updating of the cartography and national GPRS calls.

Use of the solution enables companies to optimise and control their material resources, leading to reductions in logistics costs, by controlling kilometres travelled, fuel consumption and maintenance costs.
