Vodafone continues to give away tickets to Rock in Rio Lisbon

Lisbon, 17 April 2006 – Vodafone, in conjunction with RFM, is to give away 30 tickets to participants who, on being phoned by the radio station, answer the call with the phrase “Vodafone RFM I’m Going”. This competition will be held between 17 and 21 April and is open to all customers who sign up via the Vodafone live! portal and have an active RingDing on their phone. This pioneering service, launched by Vodafone in February 2005, enables users to personalise their ring tone and has proved enormously popular with Vodafone customers.

Between 5 and 13 April, Vodafone and Mega FM have already given away tickets to the biggest fans of Rock in Rio Lisbon who had to prove convincingly that they deserved a ticket to the world’s biggest music festival. In that competition, 120 tickets were given away during phone calls made by the Mega FM radio station.

These initiatives are part of a range of actions intended to promote, in an innovative, differentiating way, Vodafone’s link to Rock in Rio Lisbon, the most important music event to take place in Portugal in 2006. On 6 March, Vodafone installed three giant guitars at various sites in Lisbon displaying the countdown to the start of the festival, and between 20 and 30 March, Vodafone gave away 300 tickets to Rock in Rio Lisbon 2006 to the winners of singing duels held in various Metro stations in Lisbon and Oporto.

Vodafone is the official sponsor of Rock in Rio Lisbon 2006, continuing its association with major music events in Portugal such as Rock in Rio Lisbon 2004 and the MTV Europe Music Awards Lisbon in 2005. Rock in Rio 2006 will take place on 26 and 27 May and 2, 3 and 4 June in Bela Vista Park in Lisbon.
