Vodafone Ski Resort inaugurates Summer Activities with the launch of the biggest Bike Park in Europe
Lisbon, 19 July 2006 – Turistrela today inaugurated at the Serra da Estrela Ski Resort, with sponsorship by Vodafone Portugal, a Mountain Biking Park and a range of summer outdoor activities something that the area has lacked until now.
The Bike Park at the Vodafone Serra da Estrela Ski Resort has been specially designed for downhill and freeride mountain biking and is the first of its kind in Portugal.
Adding to the usual winter sports, the Vodafone Ski Resort will now also offer summer outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, geocaching, acrobatic kite-flying, ski-lift rides and multi-activity programmes.
Vodafone Portugal is the first private sector company to sponsor the Serra da Estrela Ski Resort, helping to raise the profile of this tourist facility.
The project is also a significant factor in the social and economic development of the region, taking advantage of its natural resources to diversify leisure opportunities.
The association between Vodafone and Turistrela fits with Vodafones sponsorship strategy, reflecting the brands values and addressing the companys target audience.
