Vodafone starts supplying laptops with mobile broadband access

Lisbon, 11 September 2007 – Vodafone Portugal will tomorrow supply the first 5000 laptops for the e-School programmes.

For this first phase, after careful examination of what is on offer on the market, Vodafone has selected the Satellite L40 Notebook that has just been launched by Toshiba, and which incorporates the latest Intel chip that offers advantages in terms of performance and energy consumption.

As from 12 September 2007, certified candidates can take advantage of this Vodafone offer after registering at www.eescola.pt.

Beneficiaries can buy this laptop and the Vodafone mobile broadband access card for 150 euros and monthly charges considerably lower than those available to the general public. The price includes the latest version of the Windows Vista operating system and Microsoft Office or equivalent. The first subscribers to this Vodafone offer will also receive a practical carrier case for their laptop.

Vodafone has assumed a pioneering role in promoting and developing broadband services in Portugal, contributing significantly to the development of the Information Society. The excellence of its services has been recognised both by Anacom in the quality assessment surveys that it conducts periodically and by customers, including the readers of PC Guia magazine who voted Vodafone the best broadband operator in Portugal.
