Vodafone launches Backup and Restore service for Corporate Customers

Lisbon, 11 November 2009 – Vodafone has launched a new service that enables its Corporate Customers to safeguard the data on their PCs. Vodafone Backup and Restore for PC enables users to store data securely and automatically, allowing access to files and documents at any time from any computer with an Internet connection, whether fixed or mobile.

With the introduction of this new service, Portuguese companies have available an information storage and retrieval service at an extremely competitive price – from 3 euros a month and with no investment in infrastructure – which protects all their documents by creating an encrypted backup, with the option of creating these backups manually or automatically using intuitive and easy-to-use software.

With Vodafone Backup and Restore, documents are stored securely on a server outside the company and users do not need to be in the office to restore their data but can do it anywhere that has Internet access. The service offers different levels of access to users of the application and system administrators, optimisation of computer resources and Internet connection, and the option to set usage rules (for example, restricting roaming access).

This new Vodafone service is specifically designed to meet a growing need of the SME segment and will complement Vodafone’s 3G Broadband and Voice ADSL offer.

All the features, prices and functionalities of the new Vodafone Backup and Restore service are available on the Vodafone Portugal website at www.empresas.vodafone.pt/solucoesescritorio/fixodadosinternet/backuprestore.htm.

The launch of this service extends Vodafone’s range of custom-designed solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises and reinforces its leadership position in this segment, so contributing to increasing the competitiveness of Portuguese companies.
