Lisbon, 6 December 2011 – Vodafone Portugal today launched Vodafone Discover – an innovative application for Android smartphones that provides information personalised to each customer on the phone screen and facilitates access to customers’ most popular apps.

Discover Vodafone simplifies life for users and enables them to get more out of their smartphone by combining on the same screen with a single click a range of useful information and Vodafone applications and services, with a fast, simple, secure and visually appealing user experience.

This application generates information personalised to each customer and features two main discovery areas. At the top, four applications recommended by Vodafone are highlighted, where customers can download an application or start it if it is already installed on their smartphone. Another area features a range of Vodafone services where customers can view personalised data about their smartphone, including the balance, data and SMS consumption or Club Viva points.

Vodafone Discover is launched with the new HTC Explorer, a Vodafone exclusive phone on sale from today for €149.90. This application will shortly also be available for other Android smartphones.

Vodafone Discover has no subscription or joining fees and updating of content is also free and can be configured automatically or manually.

With this launch, Vodafone is expanding its range of services for smartphones, making access to its customers’ favourite apps easier while at the same time providing a unique user experience with personalised information.
