Vodafone Moments gives away Fundão cherries in Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Lisbon, Faro and Setúbal

Lisbon, 3rd June 2011 – Vodafone Portugal was out on the streets again this month with the ‘Vodafone Moments’ initiative, which this time comprised giving away Fundão cherries in several locations in Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Lisbon, Faro and Setúbal.

This year, as well as giving out cherries on the streets, Vodafone will also be offering them in nearly 50 Vodafone shops in these cities.

Fundão cherries, renowned for their high quality, are one of Portugal’s trademark products. They were purchased by Vodafone from national producers from Fundão Council. A total of 18 300 kg of cherries will be given away to around 80 000 people in the initiative.

Braga shall be the first city to be visited, tomorrow 4th June. The initiative then travels to Porto, where it will remain from 6th to 10th June, moving on to Aveiro on 11th of the month. It arrives in Coimbra on 12th, before moving south. Between 13th and 17th it is Lisbon’s turn, and on 18th and 19th June the cherries will be handed out in Faro. The initiative comes to an end in Setúbal on 20th June.

This is the latest in a number of initiatives aimed at creating special and singular moments to passersby. Vodafone Portugal has previously handed out roast chestnuts, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, popcorn, ‘snowball’ sweets, lollipops, bottled water, ice cream, sprayers, sofas and inflatable cushions.
