Vodafone Portugal has been chosen by the Vodafone Group to host the monitoring centre for the networks of Spain and other European countries. Known as Atlantic NOC (Network Operations Centre), it will be one of only two Network Operations Centres of the Vodafone Group in Europe.

Around 150 people will work in the Atlantic NOC, located in the Head Office of Vodafone Portugal at Parque das Nações, approximately 120 of them new employees. Recruitment is already underway and the most sought-after profiles are engineers and specialist technicians.

The NOC Atlantic begins operating this week, when supervision of the Spanish network begins to transfer to the Operations Centre in Portugal. Between now and March 2013, the Centre will extend its monitoring to cover the networks of other European countries.

The choice of Portugal reflects the recognition of Vodafone Portugal’s skills in this area and the availability of specialised professionals with a high level of expertise and good knowledge of the necessary languages (English and Spanish).

The assignment of the Atlantic NOC to Vodafone Portugal is further testimony to the Company’s capacity for innovation and implementation which has attracted to Portugal competence centres and launches of technologies, products and services, making it a benchmark in the Vodafone Group internationally and generating value for the Company and for Portugal.
