Vodafone Portugal launches first 4G hotspot for shared Mobile Broadband use

Tomorrow Vodafone begins the commercialisation of Portugal’s first 4G hotspot for shared Mobile Broadband use.

In an exclusive launch by Vodafone Portugal, the Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi R210 enables 4G Mobile Broadband via Wi-Fi to be shared among several devices at the same time. This new hotspot uses the most up-to-date mobile data transmission technology – 4G/LTE – which allows download speeds of up to 100 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps. A small and lightweight device, it has an internal battery autonomy of 6 hours, which makes it ideal to use in any place, as well as possessing a micro SD card slot.

This device allows Vodafone Customers to use the new Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi Monitor application, specially designed by Vodafone to manage the Internet connection from a tablet or a smartphone. The application enables several indicators to be checked (battery charge, connection strength, connection status, connection time, number of devices switched on and traffic volume used, among others) and can be obtained free of charge from Google Play or the App Store.

The Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi R210 will be on sale from tomorrow in Vodafone shops for €199.90 and in the online store for €189.90. This hotspot is also available for business customers.

With the launch of the first 4G hotspot, Vodafone remains at the forefront as regards supplying fourth-generation devices in Portugal, after having been the first operator to launch the 4G pen, tablet, smartphone and router. Vodafone is the operator with the most extensive and complete range of 4G devices in Portugal.
