Vodafone Portugal now offers 4G roaming in 100 countries

• Vodafone Portugal is the first operator in Portugal to offer its customers LTE (4G) roaming in 100 destinations; • This feat puts Vodafone Portugal in a very limited group of operators worldwide with such a huge offer in this service.

After being the first Portuguese telecommunications operator to eliminate roaming charges for phone calls, text messages and data usage made in Europe, Vodafone Portugal is once again leading the field by becoming the first operator in Portugal to offer its customers LTE (4G) roaming in 100 destinations. This feat puts Vodafone Portugal in a very limited group of operators worldwide with such a huge offer in this service.

Vodafone customers can use the service on five continents, in countries such as the United Kingdom, Andorra, France, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, South Africa, Tanzania, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan and Australia, among many others.

The achievement was accomplished two and half years after the first 4G roaming agreement was concluded, at that time with Vodafone UK. Currently, Vodafone Portugal is establishing partnerships with 140 different operators/networks in order to meet the needs of customers who travel abroad from Portugal every year.

The use of mobile data in roaming is a growing trend and at Vodafone Portugal total 4G roaming data traffic already accounts for 35% of its customers. These partnerships are expanding and improving the mobile user experience abroad, and ensuring that customers can make the most of their travels abroad when it comes to communications.

In addition to benefiting from 4G roaming, Vodafone customers can enjoy calls within Europe at no extra cost, included in the main national plans.
