As from today, Vodafone Portugal is offering a unique benefit to its customers: they will be able to make purchases on Google Play, Google’s store for Android™ devices, using their mobile phone balance or invoice.

This benefit has come about thanks to the partnership Vodafone has established with the American multinational, making it the first operator in Portugal to offer this service. This convenience dispenses with the need to pay by credit card, thereby ensuring greater simplicity, security and speed.

To mark this agreement, until 31January Vodafone has another exclusive benefit to offer its customers: reimbursement of 10% of the total value of purchases made on Google Play using the Vodafone account balance or invoice.

Launched in 2008, Google Play currently offers over two million mobile applications and games, plus movies, music, books, magazines and television programmes In the last year it has logged more than 65 million downloads.

This partnership strengthens Vodafone’s position as a key Google partner in the Portuguese market, expanding the range of services available to its customers where the penetration rate of Android™ devices amounts to over 80% of all its smartphones in use.
