Vodafone was selected in a public procurement process of Alcochete Municipality, in a project financed by Turismo de Portugal, for the implementation of Wi-Fi in public spaces.

Designed with the help of the last generation of technology, the Vodafone Wi-Fi – Public Access Service equips public spaces in Alcochete through the installation of five Wi-Fi poles based on optical fiber and free and unlimited access with bandwidth until 500 Mbps.

The covered areas of this free access to the internet through the access points of Vodafone are the historic center and waterfront area – Largo da Misericórdia, Largo de São João, Largo António dos Santos Jorge e Avenida D. Manuel I – allowing a bigger interaction between the town and the users, that begin to have access to touristic and cultural content and other useful information about Alcochete.

“This is one more important role of Vodafone in the growth of the development of digital economy. With this solution, tailored to the Alcochete’s needs, Vodafone shows its capacity to answer to the communication needs of its Clients, offering a service of excellence, rooted in a communication network that is now available to all”, claims Paula Carioca, Enterprise Director of Vodafone Portugal.
