Vodafone to organise “Mobile Christmas” with Chapitô following “Magic Christmas” with the Red Cross

Lisbon, 5 December 2006 – Vodafone Portugal, in partnership with the Performing Arts School – Chapitô, wil organise a Christmas parade on 12 and 13 December with entertainers, musicians and conjurors from Chapitô for around 500 children from the Galinheiras and Marvila neighbourhoods.

The parade, to be called, “Mobile Christmas”, will have the support of 60 volunteers from Vodafone Portugal and will tour the neighbourhoods of Galinheiras and Marvila by bus during the mornings and afternoons of 12 and 13 December.

The parade will begin with the arrival of Chapitô’s entertainers and musicians, followed by juggling, magic, balloon shaping and face painting workshops, where the children will be able to have fun and learn some of the secrets of these activities. At the end, the children will be invited to join the parade.

This charitable initiative comes on the heels of “Magic Christmas”, organised by Vodafone Portugal in partnership with the Portuguese Red Cross on 30 November at the Estoril Casino, featuring the magician Luís de Matos. Around 600 disadvantaged children in the municipality of Cascais took part in this initiative.

At that time, it was also announced that a games library, totally equipped by Vodafone Portugal, is to be opened in the neighbourhood of Adroana (Cascais), and that Vodafone Portugal is to donate a vehicle to assist with home help to the elderly.
