Vodafone gains 10 awards at SINOS 2007
Lisbon, 5 November 2007 Vodafone gained 10 Awards at the 8th International Festival of Advertising and Communication in Portuguese (SINOS 2007), which was held on 24-26 October at ISTCE in Lisbon, making it the company winning the most awards at the festival.
The awards, in the TV and Cinema, Radio and Communication Design categories, honoured ten Vodafone campaigns or projects in 2006.
The campaign O mundo precisa dos Yorns (Flash Mobs), aimed at Vodafones youth segment, won the Major Award in the TV and Cinema category, the only Major Award received by Portugal at SINOS 2007. Vodafone also gained two further awards in this category for its Vodafone ADSL and Yorn Institutional campaigns.
In the Radio category, Vodafone swept the board in the Transport and Communications sector, taking a Silver Bell and a Bronze Bell, respectively, for its Yorn campaigns Scissor Sisters and Fim de Semana Cêntimental.
In the Communication Design category, Vodafone won a Silver Bell for its Annual Report and Accounts 2005 and two Bronze Bells for the campaigns Vodafone Casa and Natal Vodafone. Its Yorn campaigns Verão and Árvore were also honoured.
The Communication Design awards were attributed by a jury of five design professionals. The TV and Cinema, Radio, Press and Poster awards were attributed by a jury of nine professionals from the Confederation of Associations of Advertising Agencies in the Portuguese Speaking countries.
The SINOS festival, aimed at companies, advertisers, advertising agencies, producers, professionals and students in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Brazil and Cape Verde, is an important platform for the exchange of experience and opinions between Portuguese and foreign participants in the marketing field, which this year has been widened to include Direct and Relationship Marketing.
