Lisbon, 29 April 2008 – Tomorrow, Wednesday, Vodafone is to broadcast, live and exclusively, the concert launching Madonna’s new album ‘Hard Candy’. With performances by special guests on stage, this unique event will take place on the night of 30 April – 1 May at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, beginning at 10 pm local time (3 am in Lisbon).

The exclusive broadcast to Vodafone customers in 14 countries including Portugal will be organised on two fronts: via Vodafone’s Mobile TV service and at www.vodafone.pt.

A special channel dedicated to Madonna has been created for the broadcast via the Mobile TV service, which will be available as from today. Vodafone customers who miss the live broadcast of the concert for any reason will be able to watch repeats on this channel during the following two weeks. To access this channel, Vodafone customers have to be weekly or monthly subscribers to the Mobile TV service.

Fans who do not own a 3G phone or prefer to watch the concert on their computer can do so at www.vodafone.pt, a link which will be limited to 4000 Vodafone Portugal customers. Vodafone customers need to send an SMS to 12997 (free message) during today and the first 4000 customers to do so will receive an SMS containing an electronic entrance code to the concert (message costs 2.99 euros).

To watch the concert, customers with electronic codes will need to access the Madonna microsite via www.vodafone.pt and select the option Online Concert, and they will be immediately redirected to a page where they should enter their electronic code. Entrance to the concert will begin from midnight on 30 April. During the broadcast, customers will be able to choose various cameras and angles and also access a chat room where they can exchange impressions about the concert with other users.
