Vodafone Portugal Foundation launches new edition of ‘World of Difference’ programme for qualified professionals

The Vodafone Portugal Foundation today launched a new edition of ‘World of Difference’ – an innovative programme whose aim is to fund the secondment of qualified professionals to social and charitable institutions.

In this edition, ‘World of Difference’ will place seven qualified professionals, salary paid, in five institutions.

Applications to join the programme can be made until 1 June, exclusively on the website the Vodafone Portugal Foundation has created for the purpose at wod.vodafone.pt.

The vacancies currently available are: Nurse and Physiotherapist for the Santa Cruz do Douro Social Centre; Psychomotor Therapist to work with children with learning difficulties and Assistant in the counselling unit to combat childhood obesity, for UTAD – University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro; Administrative Assistant for Ovar Red Cross; Communication and Fundraising Assistant for Campos de Lis Social and Cultural League; and Marketing, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Manager for ARCIL – Lousã Association for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Citizens.

The selection of candidates is the exclusive responsibility of the organisation proposing the role for participation in the programme.

‘World of Difference’ is a global programme developed by the Vodafone Foundation which aims to fund the placement of qualified professionals with social and charitable institutions. The institution is responsible for selecting the candidate, while the Vodafone Foundation funds his or her employment costs.

To date, ‘World of Difference’ has been implemented in 20 countries and has placed over 1500 people in these job markets.
