New digital platform promotes the study of key subjects

Developed for students in Years 4, 6 and 9.

The Ciberdúvidas da Língua Portuguesa Association, the Association of Mathematics Teachers and the Vodafone Foundation have launched a new platform which complements the study of Portuguese and mathematics, aimed initially at students in Years 4, 6 and 9.

CiberEstudo, as the new platform is called, promotes the learning of content and develops attainment in Portuguese Language and Mathematics subjects, with its content aligned with the programme approved by the Ministry of Education. The platform currently has a total of over 2,600 exercises with tips and explanations about the results obtained, together with 72 exams and tests. In addition to the study area, composed of blocks of interactive exercises, and the evaluation area, containing automatically and human corrected tests and exams, the platform also offers a games area designed to consolidate knowledge through fun.

This tool, which has formally organised curricular goals, features an abundance of activities for students, the possibility for students to have their answers marked by teacher-correctors and interaction with parents (through reports on their children’s performance).

We are moving towards an increasingly technological and interactive future, and so, new technologies need to become an important ally in the construction of knowledge, even in educational practices”, said Mário Vaz, Chairman of the Vodafone Portugal Foundation. He added that: “Young people are by nature open to new, dynamic and enriching experiences, so this tool will certainly be a powerful ally in their education.”

According to José Manuel Matias from the Ciberdúvidas Association, “the current teaching model can be leveraged if we put new technologies at the service of study methods. This platform has over 2,600 interactive exercises, with tests and exams that can be corrected by teachers within 24 hours, and with which parents will be able to analyse their children’s development (this is an optional tool)”.

CiberEstudo is available for €9 a year, giving access to over 2,600 exercises, tips with explanations to help solve exercises, and the games area.
