Vodafone Portugal Service Revenue grows 2.9% during Q3

Vodafone Portugal continued to improve its main business indicators during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2018-2019, between October and December.

Service Revenue reached 242 million euros, which represents an organic increase of 2.9% when compared to the same period last year. This performance reflects stabilization in the mobile business and sustained growth in the fixed business, particularly in Pay TV. During the same quarter, total revenue rose 3% YoY, reaching 261 million euros.

“This performance shows the success of Vodafone´s strategy, which is focused on customers and on the quality of the service provided. The strong investment in the expansion and modernisation of fixed and mobile next generation networks, as well as the emphasis on innovation, allows us to deliver greater value to our customers, while at the same time strengthening our competitive position in the sector”, says Mario Vaz, Vodafone Portugal CEO.

From October to December there was an improvement in the fixed line customer base that has reached 704 thousand (+9.2% YoY). This result demonstrates the market recognizes the innovation and the differentiating features of Vodafone’s offer.

Concerning mobile segment, the number of total customers rose 1.3%. The third quarter was also marked by the growth of the 4G customer base (+20.8%). The smartphones penetration in the total customer base is 74.7% and the use of mobile data grew 25.3%.

In the quarter under review, Vodafone registered relevant milestones. On APP My Vodafone, the company obtained a top achievement: a million unique users and total visits of 10 million in December. In the same month, Vodafone completed the first trial of 5G technology in the Portuguese market. Moreover, the Group presented a new global brand identity for corporate customers: Vodafone Business.
