Telecel expands and reinforces coverage in Lisbon, Algarve and Madeira

The installation, in the end of April, of thirty new stations, including the Expo area and its accesses, have substantially increased capacity and quality of Telecel network in the Lisbon area, South and North Tagus river. It is foreseen as well, for soon, the functioning of a new switching station, placed in Matinha, near Expo, further reinforcing the network quality and flexibility.

Besides the Expo area and its accesses, the new stations will reinforce coverage in CREL, Loures, Infantado and exit to Motorway, Rotunda do Relógio and areas in the Centre of Lisbon such as Saldanha and Picoas. Coverage from Carcavelos to Cascais was also reinforced as well as South margin of river Tagus and accesses to Vasco da Gama bridge made by Samouco, and also the area of Setúbal.

With the approach of the usual big summer movements, coverage of all the Algarve coast was fully reinforced specially in the area between Faro and Vila Real de S. António, Quinta do Lago, Vilamoura, Armação de Pera, Monchique, and Praia da Luz.

In Madeira, Telecel has completed its coverage continuing North coast by installing a station in Ponta do Pargo, in the West it has become the first mobile communications operator to be present in all the Island coasts. Telecel service now reaches almost the whole territory and populations in the Islands of Madeira and Porto Santo.
