Vodafone Telecel launches pioneer top up service abroad and extends immediate roaming service to more countries
Lisbon, 1 July 2002 – As from today, Vodafone Telecel customers travelling in Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom will be able to top up their Vitamina or YORN through a world-wide unique service, exclusive for Vodafone group customers.
A customer who is abroad and wants to top up its Vitamina or YORN pre-paid service can go to a local Vodafone shop, or to an establishment displaying the service logo, and purchase a voucher with the desired top up amount. The customer can then call the free of charge number 1790 to effect the immediate top up of her/his Vitamina or YORN, dialling the code written in the purchased voucher.
Through the immediate roaming service, now available in Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, calls made and received by customers of Vodafone Telecel’s Vitamina or YORN services while travelling abroad will be debited immediately from their balance, as if they were in Portugal.
The immediate roaming service does not need any kind of previous activation and can be used automatically in the countries where it is available.
Vodafone will very soon extend the top up abroad and immediate roaming services to other countries.
