Sagres League live on mobile phones with Vodafone’s Mobile TV service

Lisbon, 20 January 2009 – Starting today, Vodafone Portugal, in partnership with RTP, is to transmit live broadcasts of 16 matches in the Sagres League 08/09 season. The matches to be broadcast will be selected from among the most important games each match day and will always include one of the ‘Big Three’ – Benfica, Sporting and Porto.

The first broadcast of these games will take place at 8:45 pm next Saturday, 24 January, with the live broadcast of the game between Sporting de Braga and F.C. Porto.

The broadcast of this first game is free to all Vodafone customers who have a 3G phone. They simply need to access the Vodafone live! 3G portal or send an SMS containing the word “TV” to 12345.

The broadcasts of the other 15 matches will continue to be free for customers who have an active weekly or monthly subscription to the Vodafone Mobile TV service.

The live broadcast of these 16 matches from the 2nd round of the Sagres League on the Mobile TV service reinforces Vodafone’s investment in the Mobile TV service and, in particular, its strategy of providing a range of TV content that meets the expectations and interests of its customers.

The Vodafone Mobile TV service now offers a selection of 27 channels including, in addition to the three generalist national channels, quality channels such as SIC Notícias, AXN, MTV Music, Panda, Discovery Mobile, CNN and the History Channel, among many others.
