Lisbon, 28 May 2009 – Vodafone Portugal today launched the new BlackBerry® Storm™ smartphone from Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM). The BlackBerry Storm is the first ever ‘clickable’ touch screen smartphone and is available exclusively to Vodafone customers in Portugal from today on the online store at www.vodafone.pt and will reach Vodafone shops on Monday.

Purpose built for Vodafone, the BlackBerry Storm smartphone delivers the renowned functionality of the BlackBerry® wireless solution with the industry’s leading email and messaging capabilities, phone, organiser, web, rich multimedia features, and access to additional applications in an easy-to-use and intuitive touch-screen user experience.

The BlackBerry Storm smartphone expands the possibilities of the mobile web with support for HSPA networks, allowing users to easily share content captured with its 3.2 megapixel camera on Flickr, Facebook, MySpace or YouTube and to communicate with their contacts on popular instant messaging services such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk.

With built-in A-GPS, the BlackBerry Storm smartphone also enables the use of location-based services and maps such as BlackBerry® Maps and Google Maps, as well as the entertainment and information services available on the Vodafone live! portal.

The BlackBerry Storm smartphone is priced at 399.90 euros or from 129.90 euros with a post-paid tariff plan and a 24-month contract. To further benefit from the potential of this smartphone, customers can add the Mobile Internet Aditivo to their price plan which, for 10 euros a month, includes up to 250 MB of Internet browsing per month. This smartphone is also available on special terms for professional and business customers.
