Lisbon, 26 November 2010 Vodafone Portugal today launched the new ZTE V9 tablet exclusively in the Portuguese market, at a price of 249.90.
After being the first operator to commercially launch a tablet in Portugal, Vodafone is reinforcing its venture in this new segment by offering these devices at affordable prices.
With an Android 2.1 operating system (upgradeable to 2.2), a 7 LCD touchscreen with WVGA 800×480 resolution, 3 megapixel CMOS camera, A-GPS, FM radio, e-mail client (compatible with Gmail, Hotmail, MS Exchange, etc.), external memory (microSD card) up to 32GB and battery with up to 7 hours video capacity, the ZTE V9 is the lowest priced tablet in the domestic market.
Readied for Internet access either via a Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) connection, or via Vodafone’s 3G network (up to 7.2 Mbps download and up to 1.4 Mbps upload), this device is sold with a prepaid tariff without any commitment. Since 19 October, when it launched the first tablet for sale in Portugal, Vodafone has also offered the Best Net Tab price plan designed specially for tablet use (iPad, Galaxy Tab, ZTE V9 and others) with monthly charges starting at 14.99.
The ZTE V9, which comes with an 8GB microSD card, can be purchased for 249.90 in Vodafone shops, with a 10 discount in the online shop and with special terms for Vodafone Club Viva customers. It will also be available to businesses and professionals who will benefit from business tariff incentives under a 24-month contract.
