Vodafone Mobile TV to broadcast 2010/11 Champions League and Portuguese Football League games live

Vodafone Portugal has secured the broadcasting rights for the 18 football matches of the Champions League from the play-offs through to the Final of the championship. The first broadcast, covering the Sporting de Braga vs. Sevilla game, will take place this Wednesday 18 August at 7:45 pm.

Vodafone will also be broadcasting 30 matches of the Portuguese Football League 2010/11, one on each match day. The first broadcast – of the Paços de Ferreira vs. Sporting game – took place last weekend, and broadcasts continue next Saturday 21 August with the Nacional vs. Benfica game at 9:15 pm. This group of 30 matches will be selected from among the most important on each match day and will always include one of the three big clubs – Benfica, Sporting and Porto.

After broadcasting all the games of the FIFA 2010 World Cup, Vodafone continues to be associated with the most important events in the world of football and to enable its customers to have access to those moments anytime, anywhere.

Viewing of the football matches is free to customers who have an active subscription to Vodafone Mobile TV. The service is available via Vodafone’s mobile portals and includes unlimited access to all 27 channels of the base package. The current means of accessing the Mobile TV service are a weekly subscription of 2.01 euros (with the first week free for new customers), a 24-hour subscription for 0.90 euros and a 30-day subscription for 7.57 euros.
