Vodafone Portugal launches the HTC One X – the first smartphone with a Quad Core processor

Vodafone today launched the HTC One X – the first smartphone on the Portuguese market with a Quad Core processor.

This new processor (Nvidia Tegra 3), with four processing cores operating at 1.5 GHz, allows for better graphics performance and greater efficiency when multitasking and web browsing. The 4.7” touch screen, with 1280 x 720 HD resolution, displays photos, e-books and high resolution videos in greater detail.

The HTC One X is equipped with an 8 MP camera with LED flash and with a continuous shooting feature to take sequences of photos in a few seconds. Video is recorded in Full HD, with a zoom facility and the ability to take photos while shooting video without having to switch between menus or stop recording.

To complement the media experience, the HTC One X also has a Beats Audio sound enhancer designed to boost bass sounds. Content storage is provided by the 32 GB internal memory and users can make use of 25 GB of space on Dropbox for two years.

The HTC One X includes the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system with the HTC Sense 4.0 interface. Users can customise the smartphone with over 350,000 applications available for download from the Google Play Store as well as HTC Sense updates available on the HTC Hub. Polaris Office, an application that allows users to view any Microsoft Office file without a PC comes pre-installed.

The HTC One X is being launched in a special edition which includes urBeats headphones and is available for €539.90 in Vodafone shops, € 529.90 in the online shop or from € 239.90 with a 24-month contract. It is also available on special terms for professional and business customers.
