Vodafone is the first operator in Portugal with a Cloud service on the TV screen

Vodafone today became the first operator in Portugal to offer cloud hosting from the TV screen, reinforcing its strong commitment to the convergence of telecommunications services.

The Vodafone Cloud service enables users anywhere simply and securely to back up photos, videos, music, documents and other digital content from their mobile phone, tablet, PC or Mac. With 20GB of free hosting, this service without subscription or registration fees offers users the largest cloud storage capacity in Portugal, with the opportunity to increase it up to 100GB.

Starting today, Vodafone Cloud customers can also access the photos, videos and music they have stored in the cloud from their home television set. The Cloud Vodafone on TV application is free and is available via the television’s StartApps menu, using the blue button on the remote control.

Users can view their photos on the TV screen individually, by album or in slideshow mode, and can choose the videos they want to display from a mosaic view. It is also possible to listen via the television to music stored on Vodafone Cloud by artist, album or playlist, and share Facebook photos and selected videos.

A first in the Portuguese market in December 2011, the Vodafone Cloud service is now available on all platforms: smartphones (Android and iPhone), tablets (Android and iPad), PC, Mac and TV, reinforcing Vodafone’s focus on innovation in its television service and its leadership in quality and convergence of services on all screens.
