The eight Vodafone Band Scouting semi-finalists are announced

This year, the Vodafone Mexefest will offer a unique experience with four concerts taking place in Screen 3 of the São Jorge Cinema, in a very special format. In the Vodafone Blackout Room, the concerts will take place literally in the dark, and for this highly sensory experience four artists who have accepted the challenge are already confirmed: Akua Naru, Castello Branco, Bombino and Benjamim.

On Friday 20 November the eight bands selected for the 2015 edition of Vodafone Band Scoutingwill perform live at Cais do Sodré Metro station between 6 pm and 10 pm.

In total, around 150 bands and artists entered the contest. The jury for this initiative, drawn from Música no Coração, FM Vodafone and the Pontiaq record label, judged and selected the projects based on their originality, technical performing skills and musical alignment with Vodafone Mexefest and Vodafone FM radio.

Following the performances, two bands will be selected to perform at Vodafone Mexefest, effectively opening the Vodafone FM stage situated in Rossio train station on 27 and 28 November, respectively. On 2 December the name of the winning band will be revealed, whose award will be the release of an album by the Pontiaq record label.

Discovering new Portuguese music is one of the rationales of Vodafone Mexefest. With this initiative at the 2015 edition, Vodafone is reinforcing its commitment to supporting new sounds and new bands.
