ISEG and the Vodafone Foundation create app for communication between students, faculty members and administrative departments
ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management and the Vodafone Portugal Foundation have launched a free app which encourages real-time communication and reduces the distance between the school’s students, faculty members and administrative departments.
In a ground-breaking initiative in Portugal, this app provides a map of the ISEG campus to guide users as they move across the University campus, between buildings and inside them, showing students the routes to follow, for example, to lecture halls, auditoriums, the canteen or the library.
The new app allows users to consult curriculum content, classifications and final grades, deadlines for handing in assignments, class timetables, students’ accounts, books available in the library, canteen menus and parking availability, make real-time declarations and receive notifications about important deadlines that must be met.
Available for iOS and Android, this bilingual app is intended to contribute to improving students’ relationships with the school, smooth the induction of new students, particularly foreign students, and optimise communication flows.
Attended by around five thousand students from more than 50 nationalities enrolled on seven first degrees, 20 master’s degrees, eight doctoral programs, 28 postgraduate courses, an MBA and several short courses, ISEG, in partnership with the Vodafone Foundation, is aiming to make life easier and increase the satisfaction and motivation of students and the entire school body, while also enhancing the technological dimension within the University.
The Vodafone Foundation is a key tool in the development of the company’s Social Responsibility strategy, with particular emphasis on partnerships and projects in the area of education and those aimed at young people, such as this new ISEG app.
