Data Roaming
Lisbon, 18 December 2006 Vodafone is today launching in Portugal the Pack Roaming 24H, a daily data price plan for access abroad to Internet, e-mail and other applications. At the same time, it is reducing its data roaming prices in the countries included in what is known as the Gold Roaming Zone.
Pack Roaming 24H is an innovative price plan for data calls abroad which allows customers to access the Internet and other applications 24 hours a day for a fixed cost of 25. Designed to offer increased control of costs, the plan is especially suitable for customers who make short trips abroad and wish to make normal use (up to 50MB) of the Internet, e-mail and other applications. There is no associated monthly charge and the plan is easy to use. When a customer establishes a data roaming session on a Vodafone operator, he is charged 25 and can use the allocated 50MB during the following 24 hours.
In addition, Vodafone is reducing its data roaming charges for Internet access for all its broadband customers to only 0.004 per KB in the countries included in the Gold Roaming Zone (Vodafone Operators in Europe and certain other countries). This price reduction makes Vodafones offer the most competitive in this segment, enabling its customers in the main roaming destinations to benefit from reductions of around 33% compared with previous prices.
These changes reinforce Vodafones commitment to mobile data services, making their benefits available to an ever larger number of customers both abroad and in Portugal. Vodafone is known for having pioneered the launch of 3G/UMTS and 3G Broadband services in Portugal and their roaming availability.
Prices include VAT.
