Telecel in the United Arab Emirates
Lisbon, 17 December 1997 – Telecel has enlarged its international covered area to the United Arab Emirates, through the Etisalat operator. Customers in this area could already accede to the roaming service in Kuwait.
On the other hand, Telecel signed roaming agreements with several GSM 1800 operators: Bouygues Telecom, in France and Orange and Mercury One 2 One, in the United Kingdom. In what concerns to countries where Telecel already offered its roaming service to its Customers, it made an agreement with another operator in Esthonia, Ritabell.
