Vodafone launches the HTC Magic with Android operating system
17 February 2009 Vodafone and HTC announced today that the HTC Magic mobile phone with Googles Android operating system will be available in the spring in five European countries (Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the United Kingdom). Vodafone will start selling the HTC Magic in several other countries, including Portugal, over the next few months.
The HTC Magic is a compact smartphone with an attractive design that uses the Android platform and offers a superior Mobile Internet experience. It also has wide customisation flexibility via the applications available at Android Market.
The HTC Magic has a 3.2-inch touch-sensitive QVGA screen and a trackball and navigation buttons for rapid and easy access. The HTC Magic includes a variety of e-mail options such as Google Mail, POP3 and IMAP, as well as Google Talk for instant messaging.
The HTC Magic has strong Mobile Internet capabilities, beginning with a Webkit browser optimised for Android. It also has well-known applications like Google Maps, Google Search and YouTube. In addition, Android Market enables users to download games and applications quickly and easily over Vodafones fast, reliable network.
