Lisbon, 14 March 2011 – Vodafone is the first Portuguese operator to offer a Customised RingDings service allowing the conventional ringtone to be replaced by content created by customers themselves.

With this ring back tone service, all Vodafone customers are able to offer a totally personalised message to callers, filling the time until the call is answered in a useful, attractive or even amusing way.

After becoming, in 2005, the first Portuguese operator to offer its customers the classic pre-defined RingDings service with music, voice messages or other sounds and effects, Vodafone is now offering the opportunity to personalise this service by recording an audio file up to 30 seconds long.

Customers need to upload the content they create on Vodafone Portugal’s website at www.vodafone.pt/main/Entretenimento/RingDings after logging in to My Vodafone. This ring back tone will then be available to be used as a standard RingDing or can be assigned to any of the contacts in the customer’s phonebook.

The personalisation service is free and does not involve any additional cost on top of the existing monthly charge of €0.95 for the RingDings service. When they activate it for the first time, Vodafone customers will benefit from a promotion allowing them to use the service free of charge for 30 days.
