Vodafone Mexefest

Winter Festival brings the best of new music to Porto

After selling out in Lisbon, the Vodafone Mexefest will be shaking up the city of Porto on 2-3 March, bringing the best in new Portuguese and international music to Portugal’s second city.

Reinforcing its links with music and aiming to satisfy a demanding audience always on the look-out for new trends, Vodafone is bringing this Winter Festival to Porto for the first time, with the accent on the city’s iconic venues, new sounds, exclusive content and a lot of movement. The Vodafone Mexefest line-up is available at www.vodafonemexefest.com .

In Porto, the Vodafone Mexefest gigs will enliven the area surrounding Rua Passos Manuel, involving the Coliseu do Porto, Cinema Passos Manuel, Sala SBSR (Maus Hábitos), Pitch Club, Teatro Sá da Bandeira, Ateneu Comercial do Porto and FNAC Sta. Catarina. These venues will be joined by the Café Majestic and Café Guarany and the Garagem Vodafone FM, where there will be exclusive content, impromptu performances and interviews in the FM Vodafone Studio.

To help with the choice of concerts and help audiences as they move from concert to concert, Vodafone is once again providing an innovative app for smartphones that allows them, among other things, to buy tickets, check the line-up, find out if venues are booked, read material about the artists, find their friends on the ground, read comments on the concerts, share photos and see augmented reality throughout the Vodafone Mexefest zone.

The Vodafone 5 Stars initiative, a success at the Lisbon Mexefest, is repeated for the Porto edition, in which accommodation and a private concert in a hotel room will be given away, as well as entry to all the festival venues. The Vodafone All Access competition will also be repeated, in which the winners will receive a pass for two with priority entry to all the venues via an exclusive entrance.

In the surrounding area there will be Vodafone Moments where the brand will be giving away hot chocolate, popcorn and candyfloss to passers-by, and there will be live concerts in the Porto Metro. Everything has been designed to offer the Vodafone Mexefest audience an unforgettable experience and to get it moving from venue on venue in downtown Porto.

Tickets for the Vodafone Mexefest are unchanged at 40 euros and give entry to all the concerts in all venues during the two days of the festival.
